“The Batman” gets the best premiere of the year at the Spanish box office and the second best of the pandemic

Superheroes are still kings of the box office, also in Spain. After a few weeks in which the wear and tear of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ was noticeable, despite how surprised ‘Uncharted’ was, the total collection of the weekend in our country exceeds again the 6 million eurosaccording to Comscore data, with more than 900,000 viewers.

These figures have behind, of course, the Bat Man. Warner Bros. released “The Batman” in over 370 theaters, a very similar release to “Uncharted” a month ago. But the vigilante managed to overthrow Tom Holland and won the title of best premiere of the year at the Spanish box office, at least for now. It does so with 3.4 million euros, an average of 9,000 euros per cinema and almost 500,000 spectators in its first weekend. It is also the second best first in times of pandemic, far behind the 7.3 million euros of the first weekend of the wall-crawler last December. Batman’s previous solo film, “The Dark Knight Rises”, debuted in July 2012 with 3.4 million euros, the same as Robert Pattinson’s film. The positive reception of the film augurs well for a fruitful journey. Even “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets” won’t have any competition, at least on a premiere scale, and even so, it remains to be seen whether wizards are capable of clipping the bat’s wings.

‘Uncharted’ undergoes the arrival of Batman and falls to No. 2, but it’s holding up its fourth week in theaters quite well. It is down 43% from the previous weekend, adding 813,500 euros to a total of 9.3 million euros. A fantastic number.

‘Death on the Nile’ continues to swell little by little and already exceeds 2.5 million euros in total after three weeks. This time it achieves a box office of 418,921 euros. Still a long way from “Murder on the Orient Express”.

‘Ainbo, the warrior of the Amazon’, drops to fourth position but continues to benefit from the lack of competition, down just 1% from the previous weekend. Add 334,153 euros to a total of 2.5 million euros. A success for Flins and PinĂculas.

In fifth position, he holds on, and is already in his 11th week, ‘Sing 2!’. It holds up very well, also benefiting from being one of the few family options right now that isn’t also streaming, and its total is around 9 million euros. It’s not the 15.8 million ‘Sing!’, but it’s one of the best numbers of the season.

“The Batman” crushed the rest of the week’s premieres, which were already scarce because few were going to face the Batman. The only one that slips into the top 20 is Asghar Farhadi’s “A Hero”which reaches the ninth position with 79,700 euros and an average of 781 euros per cinema.

Zombies, kaffirs and Cyrano de Bergerac

This week the Telecinco Cinema film ‘Malnazidos’ finally arrives in theaters, which has accumulated several date changes. They also make their ‘Cyrano’ debut, starring ‘The World’s Worst Person’ Peter Dinklage, nominated for Best International Film and Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars, and the ‘Jackass’ scumbags return to the fray with ‘Jackass Forever’. ‘.
