Thanks to the colossal success of his cryptocurrency exchange platform, he has established himself as the richest individual in the industry. According to Forbes, “CZ” is also the 19th richest person in the world.

The second place is occupied by Sam Bankman-Friedthe founder of the exchange FTX. The entrepreneur established himself last year as the second richest person under 30 of all time, just behind Mark Zuckerberg. With the development of its platform, which has just opened a subsidiary in Europe and Australia, Sam Bankman-Fried has a fortune estimated at 24 billion dollars.

In third place on the podium is another cryptocurrency exchange founder, Brian Armstrong. The leader of Coinbase has a fortune of $6.6 billion. Thanks to his 19% stake in the platform, listed on the stock exchange since April 2021, Armstrong stands out as the 357th richest individual in the world.

Last year, the Forbes ranking still only counted than 12 billionaires from the cryptocurrency industry. This is an impressive 58% increase that speaks to the galloping rise of the digital currency industry.

Among the newcomers to this prestigious ranking are Gary Wang, co-founder and chief technology officer of FTX. Thanks to his 16% share in the company, the manager relies on a fortune estimated at 5.6 billion dollars.

Nikil Viswanathan and Joseph Lau, co-founders of Alchemy, the Web3 development platform, are also among the new crypto-billionaires. Finally, we should also mention the arrival of Devin Finzer and Alex Atallah, co-founders of non-fungible token (NFT) leader OpenSea, in the Forbes ranking.
